ABOUT US
The TreeBank program was created by TreeLink, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, to enable support for local community tree planting, care and education. TreeLink's mission is to raise awareness and enable support for healthy community forests everywhere.
TreeBank is a web-based tool that enables any city to develop a community fund for tree planting, care and education. Customized specifically for urban forestry initiatives, TreeBank provides cooperative marketing with a plug-and-play donation system. TreeBank donors can self-direct their contributions to the local TreeBank "branch" in their communities of choice. In this way, TreeBank harnesses the green intentions of donors and accelerates the missions of tree organizations.
Trees are a key indicator species of a healthy urban environment, providing significant economic, environmental and health-related benefits in urbanized areas, but cities do not consider trees a capital asset. To create lasting, visible change, urban forests need awareness and support from both the public and private sectors. TreeLink targets both through two primary channels:
The TreeLink website www.TreeLink.org that provides web-based communications networking and information resources for urban forest professions and citizens at large;
The TreeBank program www.iTreeBank.org that enables nonprofit organizations to develop a local community fund for tree planting, care and education. This includes a) A plug-and-play donation system with full-service technology to enable local fund-raising capability, and b) Digitally shared marketing materials.
TreeLink provides the knowledge and local TreeBanks offer a pro-active way for anyone, anywhere to act on their green intentions and support local urban forest "branches."
Our goal is long-term sustainable impact: to increase tree canopy in cities and towns worldwide, outpacing population growth and overdevelopment. Dollar for dollar, there is no better investment in the local environment.
